Organizers comment on NiP protest

The main organizer behind DreamHack Bucharest, Silviu Stroie has given us an official statement regarding the NiP versus fnatic match's protest.

As we reported an hour ago, NiP protested after losing 16-21 versus fnatic due to the overtime taking place using max rounds five ruleset as opposed to max rounds three.

Stroie told us originally the score was going to be set to 4-1, but NiP protested to continue playing from 2-1, followed up by fnatic protesting back, unhappy about the decision.

Silviu, cArn and NiP's Fiskoo discussing the protest

fnatic's players had already left their computers when Patrik "cArn" Sättermon gave them the news that they would have to re-play the overtime of their hugely important upset win.

"Somebody on our side made a mistake, set up overtime mr5 instead of mr3. The initial score was 4-1 2-0 for fnatic, then NiP protested so I came to talk to both NiP and fnatic managers and both agreed to my decision that we will play the second half of overtime starting with 2-1 for fnatic, Stroie told HLTV.org.

"Then cArn came back and said that his players don't agree with this decision and that they are officially protesting. Then I talked to my other admins and we decided we will stick to our initial decision 2-1 for fnatic, we are gonna play 3 more rounds in second half of overtime and fnatic will be Terrorist."

HLTV.org are currently trying to reach both Sättermon and a representative from NiP for a comment. fnatic just won the re-played overtime 4-1, and got to keep their victory after all.
